Looking to purchase 1st real estate investment property in FL

I currently live/rent in the city of Chicago, but my goal is to move out of IL in the very near future. I'm potentially looking to purchase an investment property (condo or duplex) in the Naples, FL or Fort Myers area. I'm new to real estate, but looking to implement the buy and hold strategy. I currently own an IT consulting company and work from home, so traveling to properties/managing from Chicago won't be an issue. Any guidance in terms of real estate agents that know the markets well in those areas?

Thanks so much,

JT

@JT Alexa

My Partner and I are investors in the Area,we are currently flipping 6 houses in both counties you are interested in .Before narrowing down specific areas to you I would start by asking  ..how much money are you looking to play with ? Are you deploying cash or are you financing ? Are you looking for turn key or are you willing to update and take on a fixer upper? There sre deals still out there  in both  Collier and Lee ( 3 of our current projects a re in Naples) .. So the deals do still exist even in higherend markets . Is your end game to rent the property until YOU eventually move down here ? Then location is everything  Happy to connect and  help with  areas that have Oppertunity  for you but with each of the above questions answered differently I would be suggesting differently if that makes sense .I always run crime heat maps on areas I'm not to familiar with and will be going to Market Watch next week that covers both counties you are interstates which is all about data data and more data !! Lol happy to share that info when I get it .. We are not Realtors even though we have been playing is this Real Estate investment game for years for us we prefer to work with Realtors  who are experts in each of the Arenas we play in ..
