Hi, I just joined this community and wanted to reach out to see who all might have attended or joined the Atlanta REIA, and what your experience has been? Looking to get involved locally in Fulton and Dekalb counties to begin learning these markets and networks. Thanks!

I bought my last 2 deals from wholesalers in GA REIA, nothing from Atlanta REIA members. Don't get me wrong, I'm a member of 3 local REIAs and feel there's good reason why REI folks need to belong to BP and other orgs.

Atlanta REIA is much different than GA REIA as is different from North Metro REIA. If you are new to real estate my view is that you are better off in GA REIA. If you rehab you are better off in GA REIA because of their Deal makers email list and the in-town rehabbers group and email lists where you can get a contractor referal in less than an hour and save big $$ as I have. Atlanta REIA does not have any means for members to learn from each other or share help except face to face at the monthly meeting which to me is not that useful. But I go to Atlanta REIA some monthly meetings for the occasional speakers or subject that night. I'm a gold member because that gets you a few bene's like Duncan Wierman's Online Lead Finder license.

BTW GA REIA has a great training event this Saturday, tomorrow. Bill Cook talking about Door Knocking. Basically it's negotiation skills in the seller's home. How to walk out with a signed sales contract. Check GA REIAs, gareia.org, calendar to signup. Just FYI.
