What are some Security Systems out there that pair well with a 30-unit Class C multifamily building? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It can come down to what you want/need.

There are many fairly good systems.

This is a general response, naming attributes, based on your post and what I would want personally:

-Monitored, police response

-motion sensors in appropriate areas

-cameras both indoor (public areas)  & outdoors - motion activated, records to cloud, holds for minimum 48 hours, w/ audio capability

-remote light switch control

-remote alarm mode settings : on, off, at home

-remote lock / unlock entrance

-remote doorbell camera (service, delivery interaction)

-temperature & flood sensors around appropiate areas

-alert capability (various) set for your concerns

-ample exterior motion dection led lighting, some solar powered lights that illuminate all night

-phone app that you are comfortable using

There are more attributes I would want but I'll stop here.

Some of the above fall under home automation and it is directly related to security.

There are a good number of systems that achieve the above.

In my humble opinion, technology should be a landlord's/propery manager's best friend.  The abilities, including view inside & outside, along with other information provided can keep a property much more secure and give the human counterpart peace of mind.

I'm in Chicago too. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
