Charter Financial note business?

Hello,

I am gaining interest in the note buying business and just wondering has anyone here ever heard of Charter Financial by Leland von Syring. If so, have you tried the course and gotten any results. I searched the forum but surprised that I couldn't find not one mention of it. I did purchase the course about a year ago but quite honestly it's just been sitting around collecting dust because I really didn't want to invest my time and energy into something like this that I wasn't 100% confident about. So I'd really like to hear if some members here have tried the course and made some money. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hey Richard welcome to the note buying community. Personally I have never heard of them. I have only been in this space for about a year. If you haven't been able to find a conversation on Bigger Pockets about them, I would be careful and do some extra due diligence. Most of the well know people in the note business are on Bigger Pockets. I have been helped the most with 'We Close Notes' with Scott Carson. He has a variety of training programs you can take. Check them out. If you would like more information feel free to private message me and we can dialogue.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for responding. I will definitely keep that in mind.

Currently I'm just trying to find gain more insight on the program I already happened to pay the initial starting fee for. This guy, Leland von Syring of Charter Financial claims to have been around since 1997 with his company in the note business, and to me it doesn't seem to be a scam or anything. Here's the about link if you or others didn't happen the to find his website: http://www.charterbizopp.com/about-us/  Would definitely appreciate any insight. I'm sure somebody here must have signed up or at least heard about this program besides me lol.

I enrolled in the note course about 3 years ago. It's a good introductory course into the business,  but it's pretty basic.  They do have a good team that handles the closing process very efficiently.   Making connections to find good deals in the note space, I have found has been a little tricky.  They offer leads ( for sale) through direct mail which I will try next and see how things go.  I have already had some experience with notes starting with npn prior to enrolling in the course. I was only able to broker one deal since since registering,  but to be fair I haven't been too active in the space.  When brokering it's important to find leads that match the buyers' preference.  I primarily delt with non- performing 2nds, they prefer performing 1sts, so it's definitely a different animal,  but manageable.  Also I would like to add that they make good on reimbursements as you close deals, like they state.
