I have some of Loral Langemeier's stuff. She has several books, get them and do some reading before you spend anything else. Its not really real estate. Some of its rah-rah kind of stuff. Some of its basic business. I did find it pretty useful. Of course they're going to upsell you to coaching and mentoring and such.

Know nothing about Jason Dillard.

I find Loral Langemeier fascinating to listen to, and have heard her speak several times (I've never paid to hear her speak and haven't bought any of her training/mentoring/guru stuff, except her book). I would say that her basic points are to:

1. set things up in entities and take advantage of business tax deductions
2. turn whatever you like to do (or are good at) into a business
3. hire a personal assistant to free up your time
4. invest in several specific categories including real estate, oil and gas, etc.
5. spend $10K (as I recall) with her to go through her program (to join her inner circle or whatever it's called).

Although I find her a good speaker, as Jon said it's really basic business stuff. I already have entities and run my business like a business. I already do what I'm good at - run a rental business. So those ideas are of no added value to me. She recommends that people hire a personal assistant ($10 per hour for 10 hours a week is what she usually talks about). This personal assistant would do things for you like taking care of your kids; going to the grocery, picking up your laundry, etc. That would free you up to do other things - presumably make money. I only work 3-4 hours a day and therefore I don't know how an assistant could help or why I would need more free time to make money. I already invest in real estate and have no interest in oil and gas. I believe in being an expert in ONE or two fields and not trying to diversify into a bunch of things. Finally, I would never spend $10K to go to any guru training. There are no secrets!

If you're interested in Loral, I would suggest buying her book "The Millionaire Maker". It's an interesting read and there's some good basic information in there. You might even be able to get it for free if you sign up for a "free seminar" or something like that.

The thing that I try to keep in mind with any "guru" is that they talk about real estate or whatever they're pumping, but their real business is often selling seminars/bootcamps/mentoring, etc to newbies.

I've never heard of Jason Dillard.

Jason Dillard is very active in my area. I think my cousin went to a wholesaling seminar by him and loved it. Never heard anything good or bad about him from anyone else.

I think his company is called Vantage Realty.

I attended many of Loral's seminars. If you read MikeOH's review, that sums it up nicely..especially for someone who never paid to attend.

She is very motivating, gets you thinking and helps to get your head thinking differently and then getting into action..and if it already does think differently, then she helps you take it to the next level. It was because of her that I started looking in other areas for cash flow properties. Even did a RE weekend with her in Philly. A nice eye-opener.

Sharon,

I'm just curious if you've actually started a business or made any money as a result of attending Loral's seminars? Also, have you hired a personal assistant?

As I said in my post, I'm fascinated with Loral's ideas, but just wondering if anyone has been able to successfully implement them?

Mike

Mike:

I did start up several LLC's that I didn't have in the past to wrap my properties around and other investments. I also started up a LLC to run my other LLC's, allowing me to take deductions that I otherwise wouldn't have taken..

I have not hired an assistant, but wouldn't hesitate to do so, should I need to. I am not in the game to the degree that Loral would want me to be..but I understand it.

I know several people who have up'd their game because of her.

I did start buying little cash-flow homes in LA as a result of her. She just got me thinking a different way.

Also, because of her networking, I was able to get into other businesses that invested in different kinds of business. One was a vitamin business that just sold to a company on the Canadian Exchange. I doubled my investment on that in three years and it was bringing me a return of over 15% annually before it sold. Others have not been that great.

The other thing Loral did for me was to see that there are other ways to make money.

Hope this helps answer your question..
