After popcorn ceiling is removed - prime then texture or texture then prime?
i am getting conflicting advise on what to do after popcorn ceiling is scraped. some people say to prime, then texture. others say texture then prime. what is better?

Depends on the texture applied. For spray on textures be sure to prime first.
Priming gives you a consistent surface for spray textures otherwise you will see slight variations in the texture between tape joints and the main body of each sheet of drywall.
