Renovating/Restoring historic homes stories

Hi everyone! Just put an offer on an older home It doesn't seem to have gone through any restorations but I have a budget that I will not pass if If my offer is accepted. I wanted to know your stories on your historic home purchases. How much did you spend? Was it worth it? And most importantly How did you make renovations and remodels with asbestos? Thank you
