First Time Flipper in Baltimore. MD!!

Hi BP Friends,

I currently have a property under contract in Baltimore Maryland! I know it is very important to make sure you hire the right contractor.

What are the most important questions I should ask? Also where can I find a good contractor? I've heard some of the best contractors are found by word of mouth and local REIA groups, but other than those two things i'm not to sure where to look. I just don't to make the wrong decision on my first flip. Any contractors or recomendations will be very much appreiated. Thanks in advance!!!

I'm glad  you jumped in. Yes, for me I only go on referrals with verified completed projects that I can visually inspect. My referrals come from a vast network I have built up from being in the business so long. Yes, word of mouth through local REIAs is a great approach. In the future I would advise having that worked out before you acquire the property. When people are new to the game an experienced and credible contractor you have faith in can walk the potential property and give you an estimate for your scope of work. The numbers and estimations of repairs are everything (in addition to dozens of other stuff) that can make or break the entire project. However, at this point I'd advise getting 3 estimates, discuss the project and if the price and chemistry seems to work, make the best choice. Best of luck and congrats!
