Sponsoring broker in Chicago - part time broker

Hi All,

I have had my real estate license for years but have not had it active with a managing broker. I used to work for a commercial brokerage (HFF before the buyout), so I was required to have my license. After HFF, I held the license with NIREIN to keep it active. However, now I am interested in holding with a managing broker so that I can do a few transactions a year if the opportunities present themselves (friends, own investments, etc). Does anyone have experience with brokerages who offer attractive agreements for part-time brokers?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Jesse

@Jesse Frageman At risk of sounding like a broken record around here, I ended up at eXp Realty as a new agent because I needed the flexbility to train, get support, and work part time.  The other two brick and mortars had a stigma toward part timers they couldn't hide when I interviewed with them.  eXp - as a cloud based brokerage - is great for part timers because you're not paying for what you don't use (franchise, office, etc.), and you are given all the training and support that everyone else gets, regardless of how big or little of a producer you are.

Another perk for investors is that eXp give 3 personal transactions a year at 100% commission (including investments).  Otherwise its 80/20 up to the 16K cap.  Not that you need either, but there are local mentors and teams as well.

Because you may be interested in this development, eXp just hired an eXp Commercial CEO and is expanding that side of the business aggressively.  There are some growing pains (20,000 to 35,000+ agents in the last year), but the value proposition is hard to beat.

Best of luck!
