Investment/Second Home in Sacramento

Currently we live Dublin but my Husband took a job in Sacramento. We plan to buy a property in Sacramento region closer to downtown so he can stay in 1 room for few week days and rent or airbnb other rooms. What areas should we look into? Is this going to be investment property or will it be treated as second home. Looking to buy something under $300, but we are not sure if we can find enough renter or airbnb in that region. Also are there any property management companies that assist these situation.

Hi @Prachi Metha, I am from Pleasanton and am now a Realtor and investor here in Sacramento. I would say the closer to downtown the better for Airbnb.  You would want to be close to the arena, the airport, and the hospitals (many traveling healthcare workers). That price point is competitive but at moment there are 199 listings under $300k within 10 miles of the arena, so it realistic. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, I would be happy to help.
