What are the best realtor closing gifts?
I know showing thanks to clients with a closing gift is a traditional way many real estate professionals seal up a transaction. A closing gift not only serves as a special treat to your home buyers and sellers, but it can also help make you more memorable long after a transaction ends. So what do think the best gifts are? I am curious to see what are some innovative gift ideas other than gift cards and/or meals. Also do you give gifts to your investor clients?
@Jay Hinrichs yeah we are awfully luck. The Whit is a nice place. How often are you in town? Business or pleasure?

A smooth transaction on a great deal is gift enough for most.

@Tony Wooldridge 2 to 3 times over the summer months in the good flying weather
my days of flying the ILS to minimums in the Willamette valley are over.. so I need a decent day or forecast weather.
strictly pleasure. sometime we will spend a night there then fly up to Kalispel and roam around Glacier park for a day then fly home... leave Friday come home Sunday eve.. that type of thing
@Jay Hinrichs Awesome! Well be safe and Happy flying and thanks again.
A gift should be something they would not buy for themselves, something that they will remember receiving from you and something they will remember you when they use or see it.

@Daphne V. For her clients that enjoy beer, my wife will sometimes give them an assortment pack from the local breweries from SA & ATX (Freetail, Busted Sandal, Ranger Creek, etc). She also has an artist friend that she will sometimes have make custom art that can be displayed on a front door.

one of my real estate agents used to give me a bottle of champagne. after the 3rd house I went through with him, he stopped giving them to me...so I stopped using him :)
but really I realized at that point I did 90% of the work anyways and could get better deals just going through the listing agent

My realtor gave us a $50 restaurant gift card with each deal we closed. I told him one time it wasn't necessary and that it was more important to me that he responds quickly when I call. He responds immediately when I need to look at a property. Speed is critical in this business and I appreciate the fact that he gives up nights and weekends to help me.
When my wife heard that I turned down the gift cards she was NOT happy about that! I guess the lesson learned is that some people respond to gifts and some don't care.
Gratitude is very powerful. As a realtor, referrals are the best way to grow your business. I would offer a referral gift in addition to the thank you gift.

Maybe he just thought you were drinking too much...
@Jay Hinrichs, a wine club subscription is a great option in certain parts of the country.
Unfortunately, the backwards PA liquor laws don't allow shipping into the state from most vineyards.

@Percy N. too funny you know what I did for my vendor clients in Mississippi who have the same bad laws.
I would just package it myself and label OLIVE OIL... there ya go the secret is out.
On my new construction projects, I really like doing artist renderings of their home. They are pretty affordable, I have a couple local artist that do them in the $60-$80 and I then I have them matted.
I have heard there are also software based programs that will take pictures and convert to renderings.
As a buyers agent, I like to get them a floor mat with the rubber boarder for their front door. I usually get their Last Initial on it, or Welcome, or a design depending on situation. Married/couples/single/etc...
This way, they may (or may not) think of me whenever they walk bye.
So funny, I'm working my gift idea right now. I never gave a gift up until this point. I'm thinking of doing a custom t-shirt, home depot gift card, and a bottle of liquor.
