House Hacking in Houston, Texas

I will be working for a company in the Energy Corridor in Houston starting in September and I want to start house hacking right away with an interest in multifamily homes. I would like to live in a 25-30 minute radius of work but want to be in a good area. Can anyone tell me, is this a good area to invest in real estate? I am also thinking about investing in a house hack that is close to a couple local Universities, any thoughts on this as well? Is there anything else I need to know about the Houston area that makes it different?

Hey @Tony Robbins!  Welcome to Texas.  I grew up in Rochester MI and my grandma still lives in Saginaw to this day...not too far from you.

There's not a ton of multifamily around there but there is a great block of duplexes 3/2 + 2/1 that might make sense for you over in Briarforest.  If you wanted to househack by renting out rooms, Katy is also a great option for Energy Corridor workers.
