abandon homes??
Here in northwest indiana I am finding abandon homes that have sat for over a year or more, but have had no foreclosing processes started. Many look great for rehabbing, but I have no idea of where to start. The owners have moved, and I can get a bank name. Does anyone have any idea of how to acquire such a property, or what more I need to do to move forward, if possible under these circumstances?

If it is in the bank name then it is a REO and the foreclosure is already complete. Generally speaking there is no way to get those properties until the bank is ready to list them and does so on the MLS and you buy them at that point. If it is a small local bank they may entertain selling off a specific property if you contact them but otherwise it is a waiting game until they're ready.
