Hi! Digital Marketer from Hudson, Wisconsin (near St. Paul, MN)
Hello,
My name is Alex Jennings and I’m excited to learn more about investment properties, passive income and house hacking. I heard about BiggerPockets from Mindy Jenson and Scott Trench’s podcast. I’m interested in the possibility of eliminating my housing expenses through house hacking (duplex, triplex, quad).
I’m 28 and would like to start investing ASAP to maximize returns while time is on my side. So far low cost index funds have been good to me but I’m intrigued by real estate as a means of diversification and a recession fallback.
I’m also curious about how different marketing strategies are used by this group.
Looking forward to contributing and learning!
Thank you,
Alex

Welcome to BP @Alex Jennings! House hacking is a great way to get started with investing. As far as marketing goes, I think you may have a leg up on a lot of the BP community when it comes to the digital side of marketing. Most of us are used to direct mail and feel a little intimidated by the digital side. Or maybe I'm just projecting. ;)
My latest batch of direct mail is focused on SFH owner-occupants who have 40%+ of equity and 3+ years of ownership. This is considered the "standard" population to market to, so we'll see how it goes. I know others who focus on tax-delinquent and even probate cases.
Anyway, nice to have you here in the community. I hope you're able to find lots of helpful advice and investors to connect with.
