I am going thru a divorce and will end up with a chunk of change. I have heard that real estate investing is a good thing to do. My goals are to buy at the low end several properties and have them rented out and managed by others. I just want residual income by the time I hit 65 which is in 10 years. Looking in the areas of Lithonia GA and Jacksonville. Currently living in Palm Beach County, FL. Any feedback on whether this is a good plan or not (and why or why not) would be great. Thanks so much.

I own 10 properties in Lithonia, GA

The boat has already sailed. In 2011 was buying at 35k large SFH, today you will be paying 180k

My point is that it may be high risk buying now considering the massive growth and of course it wont cashflow

I have now started buying in Detroit as I am getting in low and some markets here are now appreciating

Just my 2 cents worth:)
