New Member from the North Dallas area
Hello Everyone,
My name is William Groom, I relocated to Little Elm, Texas from New Haven, Ct 2 years ago. I have been interested in real estate for a long time, mainly commercial. I am looking to build a rental portfolio in the next three years, as well as acquire some vacation rental property. I look forward to learning as much as possible.
Thank You

@William Groom The headline from this thread made me laugh and think about how old I am. If you want to be in real estate in the North Dallas area it is important to remember that is a specific area.
It goes like this. Working generally north...
1) Start in Highland Park and University Park that is old money and people that want to be old money.
2) Preston Hollow more often than not is new money but older people. Think about self made multi millionaires.
3) North Dallas generally less money than Preston Hollow and wanting bigger lots than Highland Park or University Park.
Many of the people mentioned above consider all the people mentioned below beneath them.
4) Far North Dallas is generally new money. Houses tend to be oversized for the lots. This includes all of Dallas North of 635.
5) West Plano houses bought to show off new money. Houses tend to have less quality finishes, small yards, big fronts, small backs.
6) Frisco = working people in Tract homes.
I will be nice and stop before I get to the areas that you and I list on our profile.
I am not trying to be rude, I just want to make it clear. In Highland Park or University Park people buy houses for up to $5,000,000 to bulldoze them for the lot. In North Dallas people might spend $1,000,000 to get a lot.
