What did you do as a beginner to be where you are at today ?

Hello everyone, I am very new to BP and I would like to hear how others gained knowledge about real estate investing. Did you read many books? (If so what are the titles?). Did you have a mentor? ( how did you find your mentor?) did you dive in and just learn from experience? ( what steps did you go through in the process). I am just hoping to get a good direction and learn as much as I can in the next year or so while saving money that I want to invest toward my first property. @Daniel Barnett  Never read one book never looked on line because on line did not exist in 1975.

simply got my real estate license at 18 my brokers at 20 my first year in the business I made 56k in 1975 and never looked back.. Being a Realtor and Broker laid the foundation for everything I ever did in my career and that is a lot.. LOL.. some good some not so good.
