Bigger pockets community Minnesota
bigger pockets community,
Ive been a member for a while now but have never really introduced myself. So here we go.. I am from St. Paul, Minnesota and recently graduated from Augsburg college where I studied business management and finance. I have always had a entrepreneurial mentality and probably wouldn't have chose the college route if it wasn't for wrestling. In which I placed 7th in the country earning all American honors. I say this because it took much dedication and perseverance, as does real estate investing. I joined bigger pockets to learn from others and to network. I would like to meet others who have big goals and take action!

Oh - and be sure to set up some Keyword Alerts- especially for "Inner Grove Heights" so you'll be notified when people mention it here in the forums.
Thanks again for introducing yourself!

Hello and welcome to BP! It is hard to write you after Brandon did but I will try. I grew up with a guy that was from Minnesota. I do not really know why he moved to Dallas Texas but I now think that his dad might have been transferred down here but they moved back to Minnesota before seventh grade but he was a really cool guy. I had a couple other "friends" I met who joined the same fraudulent guru group that I joined about 10 years ago. They were both really cool. One, who was a girl was big into Tupperware, and the other was into landscaping but was not doing so well. That being said I will tell you about what I think about real estate since I do have some experience in construction and real estate but have only did one invest deal so far.
What you did will probably help you. I had a brain aneurism and a stroke in 2010 almost at the end of the year and I am still recovering and live right outside of Dalls Texas. I was born and raised there. I have never been to Minnesota so I want you to know that I really do not have knowledge there. Take your time and learn as much as you can before starting in investing if your budget will allow that. I found BP about 8 months ago and I am still trying to decide what to do. I am lucky to be married to a smart wife that has been saving for about 25 years and is a computer programmer.
I am 59 years old and I was in construction mangement since I was 17 including the years that I went to college. I have dine just about it all including ownership in the flooring business who did everything. I advise you to know the maket(s) you select well and now it's best locations that lend to what you do. Just like what you do. Do not try to do everything yourself. Find/Get a local and experienced Team that will help you when you need them. Expect to hear"no" many times before you hear "yes". Be persistent and aware of what is going on around you.
Always do the analysis numbers and try to look at properties before you make an offer. I have heard that the paperwork is probably more important than the property. You have probably figured out that lending, actually borrowing, is very important to you. Just be ready before you start investing. The economy needs to be diverse and the population needs to be growing. You can get that information from an Agent or the Chamber of Commerce. Feel free to contact me for anything else. Good luck!

Hi Rashad,
I'm a realtor in the twin cities and I work with a few investors. What neighborhoods are you looking for properties in? Flips or rentals? Let me know I can help you out!
