Greetings from Pittsburgh, PA

Hello all, I am a new member to the site and look forward to networking here. I have lived in Pittsburgh my entire life, and in the last few years became interested in real estate after completing extended research before purchasing my first home. The positive of the extensive research was that I got a decent deal on my townhouse, and I actually enjoyed learning as much as I could about real estate. I am currently beginning my "side business" as a real estate wholesaler, but am also pretty close to finishing my classes to get my PA agent's license. I would ultimately like to become a licensed appraiser and own rental properties (it seems much more fun and lucrative than my 9 to 5). Pittsburgh has survived the housing market crisis. Prices have dipped, it's definitely a buyer's market, and properties stay on the market for substantially longer than they once did here, but for the most part you didn't see the complete bottoming-out that other cities struggled with (and during the boom you didn't see exploding prices, either). Historically, Pittsburgh has been a pretty stable market from what I have experienced and read - I am very much looking forward to learning as much as I can about real estate and the Pittsburgh market. Hope to talk to some of you soon - Ryan
