New member, Lehigh acres, Introduction.

Hello everyone i am new to the website. I came across BP after I googled reviews on "Tarek and Christina's" real estate seminar. I will be attending the seminar this weekend. I recently purchased my first home (primary) here in Lehigh Acres florida and would like for this home to be the first of many. I would like to learn the art of flipping houses or real estate investing so any information you guys can give me on what is the very first step would be much appreciated. My background is in the creative world, I am currently a web designer for a very prestigious company, but don't plan on living the cubicle life forever.  I look forward to reading any suggestions or blog post from the BP members.

Hey @Oscar Navarro welcome to the site! Definitely start jumping into the community here! You might want to check out the A Beginner's Introduction to Real Estate Investing to help you get started.

Also, be sure to check out House Flipping: The Best of BiggerPockets. I think you'll find a lot of great resources on flipping there.

Lastly -be sure to setup some keyword alerts - especially for "Lehigh Acres" so you can jump into local conversations.

Don't meet a lot of people from Lehigh Acres but I do know a few years ago, before the bubble burst in Florida, a lot of people were buying up lots and properties in Lehigh Acres. My primary residences is here and I have a rental in Orlando. I'm reading Bigger Pockets book "The Book on Flipping Houses" by J Scott. I highly recommend you read it as well. Welcome Oscar! I have just recently bought our primary residence here in Lehigh and moved from Tampa. I have been listening to BP podcast for a while and also reading  a lot. How was the seminar? I am curious to see how much you got from it because their market is a lot different then ours here, although i'm sure their tactics and knowledge can be very useful. I've heard the book by J. Scott is one of the best when it comes to flipping. I don't have to tell you this but your background in Web Design can be very useful for your investing and could also be leveraged to work with others. Even though we seem to be out of the bubble now as far as investing in Lehigh, I believe there are still a lot of value add properties out here and if one searches around enough and filters through the properties there are a lot of deals to be had. Remember you make your money when you buy so using out of the ordinary practices to find your flips will pay off. I am focusing more on the buy and hold properties and I'm hoping to lock in a rental property by the end of the year. Let me know if you ever need anything and I wish you the best of luck!!
