My name is Valerie and I am looking into a career in  real estate.

I am currently a manager at a large restaurant in Naperville IL and love my job but its not the career path I want long term .

I have absolutely no experience in real estate as of yet but I am hoping to build my career and obtain the knowledge and strategies I need for success .

I will be turning 21 this month and have the goal of obtaining my real estate broker license and am currently saving money in the hopes of putting a down payment on a home (when a good deal presents itself)  to be my first investment property.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions I would be more than happy to listen and if anyone has knowledge about any real estate brokers in the Naperville,  Aurora,  or  Chicago IL areas please share!

@Valerie Hodge - I quit my good paying job at 21 to get my brokers license and do real estate full time.  It took almost a year to get my first paycheck and I really struggled with clients trusting me at such a young age.  So after a year I quit and went back to the corporate world.  Now over 10 years later I went back into it and have my own brokerage.

My advice would be to keep the other job and do both for a year, I know I wish I would have done that.
