@Brie Schmidt Thank you so much for your input and that's what I plan on doing! As of now I make decent money I still live at home and my car will be paid off in a few months after that I will have 0 bills and a steady income. My plan is to save every penny for a year or more while working and studying as much as possible so that by the time I obtain my license I will have a large amount of money saved at which point I plan on not quitting my job right away but just switch to working part time until I'm able to meet enough people and be involved enough to have a better chance of making an income at which time I can hopefully start working in real estate full time with my savings as a back up. I've heard getting started is tough so thank you so much for reaching out taking the time to share your experience!

My name is Valerie and I am looking into a career in  real estate.

I am currently a manager at a large restaurant in Naperville IL and love my job but its not the career path I want long term .

I have absolutely no experience in real estate as of yet but I am hoping to build my career and obtain the knowledge and strategies I need for success .

I will be turning 21 this month and have the goal of obtaining my real estate broker license and am currently saving money in the hopes of putting a down payment on a home (when a good deal presents itself)  to be my first investment property.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions I would be more than happy to listen and if anyone has knowledge about any real estate brokers in the Naperville,  Aurora,  or  Chicago IL areas please share!

thank you so much for your input! I will definitely look into the week long course but I am currently working just under 60 hours a week at my current job so it all depends on the dates. Good luck to you with all your endeavors!

I am looking to get started in real estate and am planing on getting my real estate license in Illinois as well. Would you have any recommendation  as to which school to choose when studying for my real estate exam? They have classes at two different community colleges near me and I have been studying the official practice exam book but I would love any imput on what options are best!
