New in Chicago, and BP!

Hello to Bigger Pockets! My name is Josh Reese and I'm a new investor in the Chicago market. I'm an advertising professional making a long term financial plan with real estate as the centerpiece, but because of my job, I move around a decent amount. I've loved real estate for a long time and I'm currently trying to decide if this market is a good place to start, or is it better to look at more affordable, owner-friendly areas where I would plan on building a team from afar. Any advice appreciated!

Thanks!
