"New" member intro-Chicago South Suburbs
Hi Everyone,
My name is Jeff from the south suburbs of Chicago (Orland Park). I've wanted to get more involved in RE for awhile and am finally ready. A bit about me and my REI experience-
I've done a some wholesales and a few flips along with vetting/finding buy and holds for friends. That was a few years ago and in a different market though.
I moved back to the South Suburbs of Chicago last fall and remembered BP. I read The Real Estate Agent’s Ultimate Guide to Working with Investors and saw an opportunity, so I got my brokers license. My short term goals are to help investors as a broker and to do a couple of fix and flips of my own or in partnerships.
I look forward to getting to know you more!
@Jeff Valentino Welcome to BP! You mentioned you moved back to the a Chicago south suburbs. Where were you before?
Are you only looking at fix and flips in the south suburbs?
hey welcome to the community!
Thanks for the welcome guys! John Casmon Before moving back here I lived in Rockford and Milwaukee. I would do a fix n flip in the city and nw burbs too. North side and Rockford would be a possibility if it was right.
Take care!
Rockford is the main area I invest in fixing and flipping isn't really right for that market. Just a heads up it's awesome for buying cheap fixif and then renting out though!
Welcome to bp Jeff.
Welcome to biggerpockets
thanks @Brent Mattison and @Ramon Jenkins !
@Philip Williams I agree w you on fix n flips in Rockford for the most part. I did come across a couple deals from a retiring landlord last year that made sense for me to wholesale. I've heard of other people from Chicago investing in rentals out there for the same reasons you said.
welcome

Yeah that could definitely be something to market for in Rockford. I am actually dealing with a retiring landlord as we speak, I am hoping to pick up 8 of his 10 units. I could easily wholesale them but I would rather buy and hold than make a few thousand.
Welcome to BP Jeff,
I'm working a lead in your area that I may need some help with. I'll let you know.
Gary
thanks @Timothy Riley and @Gary Shaw !
