Aloha All,
Newbie investor here from Hawaii looking to start investing in out of state, Kansas City, MO to be exact. Looking to utilize the BRRRR strategy for my upcoming properties to build that portfolio of cash flowing appreciating properties! Right now, I'm currently working on raising funds for my first deal :) If you or anyone you know

Hi Janessa! I'd love to connect with you. I'm an agent here in KC, I can set you up with local contractors, property managers, and lenders. KC is a great place to be and you're looking to invest at the right time. Things will be drastically changing here in the next 5-10 years.
Turnkey rentals on the mainland don't hit 1% RV anymore so might as well bleed cf in Hawaii.

@Lane Kawaoka Aloha Lane, mahalo for your input, appreciate it. Luckily Kansas City, MO is still renting at that 1%, sometimes even 1.2% margin☺️
STR and Mid Term rentals should be doing 1% in hawaii...

Prices are high and with Hawaii STR taxes it's a lot tougher than first glance. Definitely doable though. A lot of people are hesitant after Maui just signed bill to phase out 7,000 of the STR units over the next 2 years. A lot of owners already panic selling at discounted prices / price cuts. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Aloha @Janessa Rivera Keahi and Kyle, if you're on Maui we host a meetup every first Saturday of the month in Kihei. There's one coming up this weekend if you're in town. You should come out! It'll be at South Maui Gardens at 8am, you'll see a bunch of us down there. It's free, and there's no sales pitches, just investors talking story. All are welcome. Aloha!
