Greetings to All! New to BP! A stunning day in San Mateo CA!
What a great site this is! I thank my wonderful accountant and CPA for turning me on to BP. I am a beyond full time ;0) Realtor in the San Francisco Bay Area and a very proud native to the Peninsula...born and raised! What changes I've seen...
Thank you for your well wishes in advance! I'm really looking forward to meeting great and like minded people with whom I can share grow and learn about this wild and crazy business of Real Estate!
A short term goal is to acquire a second rental property (under $200,000) to hold. (I welcome tips on locations) Additionally I have aligned myself with some super excited partners to embark on some "dolling up" and reselling.
It's a great day in Real Estate! Cheers Denice!

Hi @Denice Nagel and welcome to the site!
I didn't know there were any Bay Area natives in the Bay! lol jk There are some $200K properties in the Bay, but they're on the periphery neighborhoods of the East Bay and in E Oakland - definitely not down on the peninsula. Definitely different vibe/demographic than you're probably used to down there.. But in my mind, it's sort of an "overflow" play from SF, Oakland, Berkeley, Walnut Creek, etc. As rents and prices go up there, they spill over to the b and c neighborhoods within commute distance to SF and Oak. (IMHO - that's why I'm here. So far, so good.) But a lot of people are going to Houston now, and some still in Atlanta - and Phoenix and Vegas, although I hear less about the latter 2 now..
I'm a 'fix and hold' investor in the East Bay, with my properties centered in Richmond (the city, not the SF district) right now. The rent/price ratio works for me, with rents increasing, and super tight vacancy. I plan to hold these for a long time, but looking elsewhere in the Bay where I can still get some cash flow.
@Account Closed do flips up on our side of the Bay - if you want to connect with some locals. You can also try searching for local members, although I haven't found it very helpful for finding active members. I organize a monthly meetup in Oakland, and you can monitor the link below for the Feb date if you're interested in coming up from the peninsula.. About 20 BP members at each so far.. Welcome, and good luck!
