New Member from Houston, TX!
Hello Everyone,
I'm currently living in Houston and working on the finance side of the energy industry (of course!). Have recently been spending my spare time learning as much as I can about real estate investment. I am particularly interested in learning more about fix and flip strategy as well as connecting with others. I'll be doing this on a part-time basis but hoping to make my first investment in the very near future. I have really enjoyed the BP website, it has a wealth of information. Looking forward to sharing my experiences with the BP community as well. Thanks!

Hi @Anil Sinha , and welcome to BP! I like your energy! (pun intended!). I have a friend who works for DOE in energy project financing. I'd imagine Texas is a good place to be doing it. Alternatives, Oil, Nat gas, Pipelines... A little bit of everything.. Anyway, just my 2 cents, if you don't have a contractor/rehab background, there's always lots of surprises in flips (permit issues, surprise moisture/rot issues, plumbing, electrical, you name it) - I'm sure you've heard some of the stories. Not trying to discourage - just watch your @ss, build some cushion into the deal, and keep reserves! I’m a ‘fix and hold’ investor from the Bay Area in CA, and loving it! A few tips about the site..
You'll find lots of good info in the "Learn" link across the top navigation bar, and in the link at the top of this introduction forum. You can tag people by typing @ before you type their name, then clicking their name when it pops up at the bottom of the message box. You can click on the "vote" button if you like someone's post or is helpful. And you can earn "awards" for various "achievements" - just look at your profile. Hope that helps with the site! Good luck on your investments!
