2 questions on Short Term Rentals

I'm looking to get into STR properties in Frisco Texas (just north of Dallas). Does anybody know of a good way to find out if an HOA allows STR in a neighborhood without calling them all? Maybe accessing a list or something?

Second question is if most HOA's don't allow it how are there so many listed on Airbnb within communities with an HOA? Are there a lot of people out there who just risk it and hope they dont

Replied

Many people are breaking the rules. Make sure it is allowed when you identify properties.  They could decide to enforce rules at any time.
