Who here does welding in a STR
There were some metal bed frames and staircase railings that needed welding. Used 110v FCAW. Splatter was a problem. I wetted down some cardboard or some canvas drop cloths and spread them in the drop zone of splatter. Drop zone was carpet.
What do you do?

Sounds like as good a solution as any. I might have doubled up the wetted cardboard. I remember them having specially rated thick drop cloths that were fire resistant when I was in the Navy. They would often have to weld in tight spaces on the submarine while we were in port.
