Im interested in acquiring a multi family that needs a full rehab, 4plex and two story house on single property (2 story used to be boarding house) potentially 6-10 rentals after rehab. Id like to split the units as some long term some Airbnb ( thinking cash flow could be higher as Airbnb) Im trying to calculate the deal and wondering if anyone has any experience advice with Airbnb. Are there differences with legality, taxes with long/ short term rentals? (Newbie this will be my first deal) thence for the help!

Which city is this I know in my area some cities are now limiting Airbnb and short term rentals. You also may need to get a business license for that check the laws. I know people who got large fines around 20k because they were not aware of the restrictions.

Also beware that the LTR guests might not like the STR guests if they are partying, rowdy, etc. It can work but people living somewhere long-term typically don't want a rotating crew of vacationers as neighbors
