South Lake Tahoe banning most short term Vacation Rentals

This is a major bummer for many investors and vacationers alike. As a Bay Area resident who frequently visits the Tahoe area I can assure you I am taking my tourism dollars to North Lake and other surrounding areas. Especially considering your only other lodging options are smokey casinos or run down motels. I also don’t buy the “there’s always huge crazy parties going on” excuse often given by residents in these cases.

@Andrew Neal That is unfortunate for property owners in that area. This seems to be a bigger and bigger risk in the STR market. Its probably not a good idea to have all your eggs in one basket or all your STR's in one area and no long term rentals to cushion a blow of losing the ability to rent all your STR's that are in one location.

I imagine there will be a lot of new long term rentals or houses for sale in the South Lake Tahoe area.

Also it says banning "most" what are the exceptions that don't fall into most?
