Just starting looking for advice
My name is Christopher, I have studying real estate investing for probably about 7 years. I am about to be 21 here in a few weeks.
I am looking for someone that is currently in the short term rental business. My business partner and I would love to sit down for lunch and pick someone’s brain. I understand the business model, but I would like to see the thought process of someone actively running a Short term rental. I’m in the Middle Tennessee area if anyone is open to sitting down for lunch or coffee with My business partner and I. It would be greatly appreciated!
We're not in the area but I would suggest looking into a mentorship/coach that can help you grow and not make all the mistakes others did before you. It really is worth the money and even time, if you're serious about building a STR company!

Hey @Christopher Crooks, the advice I would give you is to spend a ton of time here. Read a bunch of posts and take notes.
Grab @Avery Carls book, Short Term Rentals, Long Term Wealth - https://store.biggerpockets.com/products/short-term-rental-l...
While I am not in middle TN (I did used to live in Rutherford County, though), I am in the STR game and self manage. I have nothing to sell and would be happy to help if you think that I can be a resource. Shoot me a DM if you want to discuss more details.

I would recommend looking at possible internships? There are some larger operators in TN maybe you could reach out to
Welcome @Christopher Crooks! There are several great resources located in these very forums. @Andrew Steffens hit it on the head, in my opinion. I wouldn't pay a crazy amount for any mastermind right now and would try to get some boots-on-the-ground training in your area. Go on Airbnb and see which of the top management companies are there. Try to reach out and go to some local meet-ups. The Avery Carl book here in the bookstore is amazing.
Hi @Christopher Crooks - I'm not in TN, but manage 3 STR properties remotely. Please send me a message and I would be happy to talk and answer questions you might have about owning/operating short-term rentals.
