Is this a new Trend?

Read an article about Airbnb hosts who had their accounts removed from the platform for vague reasons like being too closely associated with "people who aren't allowed to use Airbnb. In this case, the host's elderly mother (not the host) had a partner with a couple of non-violent offenses on his record. They got nowhere with Airbnb until they went to the press, and the account was reinstated. It reminds me of people who build up an income stream on social media, get banned, and then lose that income overnight. Hopefully, this is not a new trend.
