VRBO Guesty integration not working

Shankar Patil
Posted

Hi Team,

I recently got "Guesty for host" subscription. While it works like a charm with Airbnb I have a really hard time getting it to work with VRBO.

Has anyone had a similar issue? how did they find the resolution for the same?

I gave up. Guesty customer service is too poor and integration with Vrbo is too glitchy.unfortunately there isn’t a way to just sync calendars and prices anymore either

I had a horrible experience with Guesty for hosts. Two double bookings and zero customer support.

It's always best to use Guesty for Pro, though it's expensive it has all the features to support your STR business. GFH is just like a lower version with fewer features that are not sufficient to automate a Short-term rental business.

You can also consider using Ownerrez, I'm not trying to run an ad for them right now but Ownerrez is a great PMS, and it has seamless integrations with different rental channels.

As soon as you have enough properties switch to Guesty for Pros. Unfortunately, VRBO doesn't have the AI intelligence that Airbnb has, so it's hard to get the different softwares to run as well as they do with Airbnb.

Thank you all, i am still troubleshooting.
from my experience so far it is not the IPM(integrated property management) software that is the problem, it is just the way VRBO is designed to work with these IPM that causes the issues. Unless vrbo gets better at it we will see continued issues.

In my STR market, i hardly get any bookings from VRBO but don't want to miss out on possiblities.

Another problem is VRBO charges (5+3)8% for advertisement booking and guesty handles payments in this case. whereas Airbnb charges a flat 3%. So I wonder what is the motivation for folks to be using vrbo

The only reason to me is more bookings. For whatever reason my market leans more towards vrbo. I added a 5% charge to vrbo to offset the extra cost

I know this is an old post, but my experience with Guesty syncing with VRBO has been terrible as well.  The support always says it's a calendar sync issue with VRBO and never takes any responsibility to solve the issue.  It's a frustrating experience and it's not cheap either.  It works well for most things until it doesn't..., then I get multiple double bookings and no support.

How can the Pro be any better and what would make me want to pay more?  I have 3 properties and Pro is for 4 and up...

What other options are there?

I switched over to Lodgify and it is definitely better. Their customer service is pretty solid. You can always call and talk to someone. They can't always solve it right then and there, but at least you get the ball rolling. Certainly not a perfect platform but superior to Guesty in my opinion.
