Screening Tenants

BP,

I'm a fairly new landlord as I have had only 1 unit for the past 1 1/2 years and just acquired my 2nd unit about a month ago. I'm going through the screening process right now and I do not know how far back I should go on someones background check. How far back do you all go?

Also, if someone is moving to town and has a new job they are starting when they come how do you all do their employment history?

I did see the screening process on this site. I do browse this site frequently but have not seen a post like this yet. Sorry if this is a duplicate.

Thanks,

Brian
