Screening Tenants
BP,
I'm a fairly new landlord as I have had only 1 unit for the past 1 1/2 years and just acquired my 2nd unit about a month ago. I'm going through the screening process right now and I do not know how far back I should go on someones background check. How far back do you all go?
Also, if someone is moving to town and has a new job they are starting when they come how do you all do their employment history?
I did see the screening process on this site. I do browse this site frequently but have not seen a post like this yet. Sorry if this is a duplicate.
Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Great question! Poor applicant screening is a common mistake a lot of people make. Here is how we screen our applicants: http://www.jmbgrouppm.com/blog/item/22-how-to-scre...
We have refined this process throughout the years to find the best quality tenants in the shortest timeframe for our personal and client properties. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
