Vapor Barrier in Kansas City

Troy Stidd
Posted

Hi BP,

I am a out of state investor who just bought his first property in KC. As part of doing a light rehab, I was suggested to install a vapor barrier in the crawlspace of the house. I am aware that vapor barriers are only necessary in certain parts of the US, so for anyone else that invests in KC, what are your thoughts?

I was also quoted ~$1300 for the installation. That price seemed pretty steep to me, but I want to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!
