Is this done by termites?

I opened a wall of an old house and found some wood in terrible shape. There is no sign before ripping off the drywalls. I was told by a contractor there that it's termite. Never dealt with this thing.

Is this done by termites? What's the best way to treat the termites and kill it forever?

Looks like blisters and long grooves left by termites. 

Just had our house treated for termites. We were able to get it done for about $500, but prices can vary depending on the damange. Maybe try to find a local guy. They drilled a bunch of holes in the ground all the way around the house. We now have to keep up with the treatment by having it retreated every year for about $100/year. It's not a one time and done type of thing.
