How is everybody getting rent ?

It is getting challenging to get the rent. One of my tenants is not picking up calls or if pickup saying that they don’t have money and making lame excuses and that they are going to talk to their lawyers. I know they get money from a medical claim every month that shouldn’t change with COVID. We can’t do evictions for a long foreseeable future now how are you handling it for tenants who are trying to misuse this situation? This is a single family. I don’t want to go in person at this time. Are there any other legal ways left to still convey the message that tenants can’t take a free ride as they are still liable to pay as under contract ?

@Marita Jojo

Most states allow you to file the paper work for an eviction, they are just not processing the paperwork until the states relax their guidelines. I would still send the registered letter.
