Newly Moved In Tenant - Now Deceased (Shot)

Hi All. Recently our newly moved in tenant was shot and killed in a neighboring city. Although this was not on our property, we are going through the motions of working with the police, family members and Section 8 housing payment provider.

we have been told as Section 8 Housing entity/company already issued payment(75%), we can not move anyone in the property until next month or even post a listing. We also will have to work with family to get the items removed from the property.

Anyone have any experience with such an event? Any recommendations?

@Chris Levarek I just had this happen. Contact your insurance agent, lender, lawyer etc and just let everyone know what happened. If you cooperate with everyone it'll work itself out
