Oakland landlord seeking advice

Hello I am currently helping my father manage his property here in Oakland California, I would like to know what other local landlords have learned about the cities landlord and tenant laws. We have a tenant with a abandoned car in the rear of the unit I am wondering if we can do anything about the situation? We plan on inspecting the property tomorrow and keeping the unit in good shape, replacing smoke detectors and adding a carbon monoxide detector, along with possible window upgrades and repaving the steps to keep the property safe for our tenants. If any landlord here in the local area has any advice about what to watch out for, or just advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Emanuel. I’m in OAKLAND and had a similar problem. The OPD has a department responsible for removing abandoned cars from properties. I have their email and phone number. It’ll take a little while but they are generally good to work with. DM me if you want the info.
