Multiple water heaters keep corroding

It's been awhile since I posted in the forums, but I'm having a really weird situation with my water heater.

This is in San Diego, CA.  Within the last year and half I have had three brand new water heaters corrode and start leaking at the bottom.

All water heaters have been in the same spot at the same address installed by a professional plumber. Some of the work and tanks have been covered by warranty.

We have a Rayne water softener installed and they are coming out in a couple of weeks to test the water. The plumber is coming out tomorrow.

Any input as to why the tanks keep corroding would be very much appreciated?

I haven't really performed any maintenance to the water heaters such as replacing the anode rod or flushing out the tank. The last one was installed in early January and started leaking yesterday, so no maintenance should've been needed during that time frame.

Thanks for reading!

Quote from @John Otradovec:

I have had too many water heaters fail before the end of their warrantee.  I have been switching over to the electrical anodes.  It is a little early for a verdict, but so far it has been good.  Obviously they require electrical near by. I have a few water heaters that are in exterior cabinets that do not have power.

The electrical anodes are available on Amazon.

By the way, use a quality impact wrench when switching anodes.  Otherwise their removal can be very challenging.

Good luck.
