I read an article that stated two year W2 income is becoming less important then in past is this a myth or doesn’t it depends on the bank?

Both Fannie and Freddie have been accepting more and more 1-year case files as opposed to 2 years. I don't know what the article says in its entirety. However, regarding the importance, it's less than it used to be because you only need one year instead of 2 in most cases.
