Future Real estate market in North Carolina

if you had to choose the top 3 cities in North Carolina that could possibly be the next “Raleigh”, what cities would y’all choose that could be it in the next 5-10 years?

Thanks for sharing the graph - I hadn't seen that. I absolutely agree that past performance isn't an indicator of future success, and I also don't own property in Winston-Salem, nor Asheville. Thanks again for sharing!

Defensive? My post said "I just go from data. I don't have a dog in the race, since I don't own property or live in these areas. If someone asked me to put $1 in a theoretical real estate index fund tied to these two areas, I'd pick Asheville." I attached a graph to show Asheville outperforms W-S over the last multiple decades. 

Everyone can do their own research. Anyone can make money in any of these markets. I know an investor in W-S that has made a good living, just like investors in Greenville, NC and Kinston... both cities not in my 'Big 4' and both cities where I would (and have) invest. Again, I'm just answering the OP question.
