Ok.  I've been on BP for a short amount of time.  To give you an idea of how "green" I am, I just order Rich Dad Poor Dad.  I think I read it before a few years back, but I want to refresh my memory.  I've listened to 42 podcasts since 18 September and really getting a lot out of it and enjoying the learning process.  But I can't remember for the life of me what "house hacking" means?  I'm sure I'll look back on this specific post in a year and wonder what was I thinking in asking this, but I want to know.  Thanks in advance and bring on the jokes.  I'm game.  I'm a big boy and can take it.

It's where you rent out a portion of your primary residential home to drive the cost of your own living expenses down.
Myself I have a 3b/2b trip level home and I rent out a bedroom for 450/m and slowly working on getting the other room into a STR. "House hacking" will allow me to pay down my VA home loan so I can refi and use the benefits again.
