Shipping container investment
Good Morning,
I live in New York, I am looking to move out of state. I have maybe 3 or 4 states in mind, I am trying to see where I could move that would be the most cost efficient for me. I would like to maybe buy land in a upcoming area. I would like to build a 6 shipping container building/ home. I would like to know how I should start going about this.

Here's a video showing the actual cost. Keep in mind he had the skills to make it happen, and he doesn't account for the cost of his time/skills. Most people would be better off buying a nice, used manufactured home for $50,000 - $100,000.

I'm not sure I'm looking towards a manufactured home. I would like something that can be made into like a building. Appreciate any kind of information though.
Thank you

We looked into a shipping container building a couple of years ago. Beyond the novelty of it, the mechanics of getting it done were such that it made more sense to look at modular construction. There is actual potential to scale and develop a market position that beats stick built in modular, in my opinion this doesn't exist with container builds. You can absolutely do a container project for the marketing factor or just because you want to.

my airplane partner did this in oregon started a company doing these.. VERY expensive to build these and getting permits very tough .. U can stick build for less.. they work in areas that will be very lax or dont have building permit regulations etc etc..

Thank you would it cost more then 200,000 to just do the basics like, insulation, electric, roof and plumbing?

Thank you I will look into modular construction buildings. Would I have to work with a realtor or someone who specializes in these builds?
