Is it better to rent for the company or acquire a company with the equipment?
Will a good concrete company have access to the necessary equipment to grade and dig to prep the site or is it customary to have to rent that equipment for the concrete work to be done?

Most good concrete companies will have their own equipment to grade and dig the site for prep work. It's pretty standard for them to handle all of that since it's a big part of the job. However, it’s always a good idea to double-check with the company you’re hiring just to make sure they have everything needed for your specific project. If they don’t, I would want them to rent the equipment themselves to remove some liability. I imagine a situation where you rent an expensive piece of machinery, and then their employee damages it, and now your left trying to collect from their insurance while being on the hook with the rental company.
