Newbie hurdles: How do you raise money with limited experience, gain trust, gain experience, etc

During difficult times, how do you communicate with investors, how do you change distributions? 

When an investor asks for their investment back, what do you do? 

What structure changes to investor splits are you doing? Any changes with investor expectations?
