What state should attorney be in?

Good evening all,

I live in California and am planning to start investing in Phoenix. Would you recommend using a real estate attorney near me that knows California tax laws or one in the Phoenix area? Pros and cons? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Get an attorney in Phoenix. Each state has their own set of real estate laws, and you'll definitely want your attorney to know them for Arizona. Also, I don't know what you'll be using your attorney for, but a California attorney won't be able to actually practice in Phoenix.

Curious, why do you need your attorney to know the tax laws? Do you not have a CPA that knows the tax laws?
