FORECLOSURE QUESTION

Dylan Gelbard

Posted

I am going to the court steps in my area on the 9th. I am new to investing which is why I have a mentor who is guiding me through the process. He wants me to find out how much is owed for the mortgage and how much is owed in taxes. Can a title search give me that information? Or should i call the plaintiffs attorney?

Hi Dylan,

Typically the tax assessment is available online. Do a google search for "tax assessor or assessment office". For the mortgage amount owed, it varies by state but usually it has to be posted at the local courthouse and may be available online. I've used a couple of online websites that make the information available for a fee but they allow you to search by property address.
